A Bit About Me
Hello, I’m Zachary "Cather" Appleby — a passionate and experienced professional with over a decade in the Media & Entertainment industry. My journey began with a dream of becoming an artist manager in the music industry, leading me to the vibrant creative scene in Nashville. After countless meetings and meaningful connections, I was introduced to Carey Burch at Average Joes Entertainment. That introduction opened the door to my first role in television with Asylum Entertainment as a Production Assistant — a pivotal moment that changed the course of my career.
What started as a detour became a lifelong calling. Over the past ten years, I’ve worked across a wide range of roles including Production Assistant, Camera Assistant, Media Manager, Camera Operator, and Director of Photography. Each title has not only refined my craft but also granted me unforgettable experiences — from filming organ transplants on TLC’s Last Chance Transplant to capturing the intensity of SEC football games for Netflix, with behind-the-scenes access most can only dream of.
Recently, I’ve had the privilege of working with top-tier comedians Bert Kreischer and Adam Ray, filming for their shows and podcasts. These projects fuel my curiosity and drive for storytelling — from pre-production to the final cut.
